Cadillac became Formula 1's 11th team in 2026, the first new entry since Haas joined in 2016. Backed by General Motors and TWG Global, the project grew out of a bid announced by GM and Andretti Global in January 2023, which the FIA approved but Formula 1's commercial rights holder initially rejected. Final approval for the American team arrived in March 2025.
The team is headquartered in Fishers, Indiana, with further facilities in North Carolina, Michigan and at Silverstone in England. It uses Ferrari power units while General Motors develops its own, due from 2029, and it opted for experience in its first line-up, signing Sergio Pérez and Valtteri Bottas, who arrived with 16 Grand Prix wins between them.
