The Circuit de Monaco hosts the Monaco Grand Prix on the streets of Monte Carlo and La Condamine, winding around the harbour of the Principality of Monaco. First raced in 1929, when Antony Noghès of the Automobile Club de Monaco organised the event, it was part of the inaugural Formula 1 World Championship in 1950. The Monaco Grand Prix is also one of the three races that make up motorsport's Triple Crown.

At 3.337 km it is the shortest lap on the calendar, and the barrier-lined streets leave almost no margin for error. Highlights include the climb to Casino Square, the tight Grand Hotel hairpin, the tunnel and the Swimming Pool section beside the harbour. The race runs over 78 laps and 260.286 km, well short of the usual Grand Prix distance.

What to watch for: Overtaking is extremely difficult, so qualifying position, pit-stop timing and any Safety Car that bunches the field usually decide the result.
