Oscar Jack Piastri is an Australian driver from Melbourne who won three junior championships in successive years: the 2019 Formula Renault Eurocup, then the FIA Formula 3 and Formula 2 titles in 2020 and 2021 as a rookie with Prema. After a year as Alpine's reserve, the FIA's Contract Recognition Board ruled in his favour in a dispute over his services, clearing the way for him to join McLaren for 2023.
Piastri scored a podium at Suzuka and won the Qatar sprint as a rookie, then claimed his first Grand Prix victory in Hungary in 2024 and another in Azerbaijan. In 2025 he won seven races, a record for an Australian in a single season, and led the championship for much of the year before finishing third, 13 points behind team-mate Lando Norris.
