Liam Jared Lawson is a New Zealand driver from Hastings whose Red Bull-backed junior career took him across three continents. He won the 2019 Toyota Racing Series on home soil, finished third in Formula 2 in 2022 and was runner-up in Germany's DTM in 2021 and in Japan's Super Formula championship in 2023, a broad grounding for his step up to Formula 1.
Lawson made his Formula 1 debut at the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix as a stand-in for the injured Daniel Ricciardo at AlphaTauri, contesting five races, and returned for the final six rounds of 2024 with RB. Promoted to Red Bull Racing for 2025, he was moved back to Racing Bulls after two races and went on to record a career-best fifth place in Azerbaijan.
