Autódromo José Carlos Pace, better known as Interlagos, hosts the São Paulo Grand Prix, historically the Brazilian Grand Prix, in São Paulo, Brazil. Opened in 1940, the circuit takes its traditional name, meaning 'between lakes', from its location between the Guarapiranga and Billings reservoirs. It was renamed in 1985 in honour of Brazilian driver José Carlos Pace, who died in 1977.

Run anti-clockwise, Interlagos follows hilly terrain in a natural bowl. From the start the lap drops into the Senna S and Curva do Sol, runs down the Reta Oposta, winds through a twisting infield, then climbs back through a long, curving uphill run to the start-finish line. Sudden rain showers are common and can change a race quickly.

What to watch for: Sudden rain can transform the race, while slipstreaming up the hill to the line sets up overtakes into the Senna S, with Turn 4 at the end of the back straight another key spot.
